ALVAR, Inc. is a privately owned company, founded in 1979 by Arthur Lersch Sr. with its headquarters located in Washburn Illinois.
The addition of the ALVAR Resins/ALREZ Inc., located in the Crossett Arkansas in 2013 brought the integration of Rosin, Alkyd and Polymer chemistry into the lineup.
Early 2018 the addition of a new site in Palmer Texas, just minutes from downtown Dallas, has given ALVAR more production and capacity in the specialty colors and carbon dispersions for Package Inks and Coatings.
Products’ Scope
Having served the graphic arts markets since 1979, ALVAR works with a wide array of printing ink and specialty coating manufacturers. ALVAR provides custom manufacturing and general supply to the ever changing markets associated with: Rosin based resins, alkyds and lithographic vehicles, carbon black and specialty color Dispersions for Paste and packaging applications. Our new systems meet many applications such as natural resins, phenol free resins, microwave safe and specialty color dispersion. A broader product mix serving markets such as emulsifiers, rubber, asphalt and adhesives has given us a better view of ideas to improve on our current products.
R&D Capabilities
The expansion of the Crossett labs to include an analytical department and a pilot area will allow evaluation and product development. Our laboratories are capable of formulation custom polymer solutions and proprietary formulas for a broad range of demands.
