We are excited to welcome Leeward Renewable Energy, LLC as a new investor of GROW Licking County!

Leeward Renewable Energy (LRE) continues to expand its national renewable energy portfolio with projects that deliver both reliable energy and meaningful local impact. With more than 30 renewable energy facilities operating across the U.S., LRE is helping power communities while investing in long-term economic growth.

One of those investments is the Harvey Solar Project in Licking County. The planned 350 MW solar facility is expected to generate more than $3 million annually for local schools and public services while creating 300+ construction jobs with a strong emphasis on Ohio workers and U.S.-made materials.

Projects like Harvey Solar demonstrate how energy development and community partnership can work hand in hand — supporting infrastructure, workforce opportunities, and regional competitiveness for years to come.

May 20th is World Bee Day! LRE’s Big Plain Solar in Madison County, where sheep help manage vegetation and maintain soil health, also supports more than 50 beehives and nearly 3 million bees. By working with veteran‑led partners like Frontline Hives and Wind & Sky Apiaries, we have created pollinator‑friendly habitat that supports local farms and keeps the ecosystem healthy. 🐝
