Bore Repair on a Furnace for a foundry plant. Pictures included the bores on both sides of the furnace. The pictures are slightly all over the place so I tried to align it the best way I could. It was a very time pressing job so I didn’t get as many pictures and videos I’d like to. But as you can see, there was one side of the furnace that was much less damaged as the other. We needed to touch up some gouge nicks from a torch where they cut into the bore trying to cut the pin out before we could start on anything. First side only required about three layers of hand welding. So we cut as much as I could and hand welded the rest before we introduced the bore welder. The second side you can see in the video when I hold up a L square how much hand Welding we needed to do before we were able to introduce the bore welder. I believe it was an 1 3/8” on the top side of the bore after we got everything welded up by hand. We got the hole as round as we could before the bore welder welded it up and in some holes, it took up to five layers of weld before we re-machined it back out. Both cylinders took 6 inch pins. It was a very fun/challenging job because we had a very tight tolerance on the backside, but overall we were able to get it knocked out.

I’m Milton Fernandez, owner of Southern Mobile Welding Repair & Services LLC !
I currently live in Cullman Alabama and have been here for the last 1.5 years. I moved to Cullman from Phil Campbell. Growing up in a cattle farm in Phil Campbell was fun, but also very beneficial to who I am today. Working on the farm showed me that hard work, honesty, and integrity are vital characteristics. Driven by curiosity, creativity, and serious work ethic, it became a passion of mine in figuring out how to solve problems. Those traits and ideas are now the heart of Southern Mobile Welding Repair & Services LLC!

That’s the reason why what we do is not only because we look forward to a paycheck, but it gives us a sense of accomplishment when we lay our head to rest at night.
