Specialty Underwater Services SUS - Marine Construction & Commercial Diving for Building Above and Below the Waterline

06/02/2026

Yesterday, our Team was hard at work at Pier 2, removing deteriorated sister boards and making critical repairs to keep the structure strong.

Using specialized underwater equipment, including torches, hydraulic chain saws, and drills, our crews removed damaged materials, installed new sister boards, and repaired compromised piles with concrete-filled jackets when needed.

Working above and below the waterline to get the job done. ⚓

We remember and honor the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

Today, take a moment to reflect with gratitude on their courage, dedication, and the freedoms their sacrifice helped protect.

We wish everyone a safe and meaningful Memorial Day.

🌊 This , we’re recognizing the crews, operators, divers, technicians, and support Teams whose work helps maintain and strengthen critical infrastructure across the country.

As technology and project demands continue to evolve, infrastructure projects must be built with efficiency and the future in mind.

From waterways and marine structures to transportation and utility systems, strong infrastructure supports stronger communities.

Construction is demanding work, and the pressure carries through every shift.

Long hours, physical strain, and fatigue can affect focus and decision-making when left unaddressed. Recognizing changes in mood, behavior, or concentration is key to stepping in early.

Support starts with simple actions: rest, breaks, staying connected, and checking in on coworkers. Just as important is speaking up, listening without judgment, and encouraging help when needed.

Mental health is safety, on and off the job site.

Electricity is one of the most dangerous job-site hazards because it often gives little warning before an incident occurs.

Many injuries happen when equipment is assumed de-energized, cords are not inspected, or work is done too close to overhead or underground utilities. Safe operations require maintaining proper clearance from power lines, inspecting tools before use, and limiting electrical work to qualified personnel.

Staying alert, slowing down, and following procedures every time is key to preventing serious injury.

Falls remain one of the leading causes of serious injuries and fatalities in construction, which is why we focus heavily on prevention.

Most incidents are preventable with proper planning. At 6 feet, fall protection is required and must be used correctly every time. Safe access is just as important: ladders must be stable and used with three points of contact, scaffolds properly guarded and planked, and all openings secured and marked.

Planning ahead, speaking up, and eliminating shortcuts are key to ensuring everyone goes home safely.

Caught-in and caught-between hazards can happen in seconds with little time to react.

Staying safe means maintaining awareness of pinch points and “line of fire” zones, using proper trench protection, machine guarding, and clear communication.

Small actions matter: keeping spoil piles back from excavation edges, using lockout/tagout before servicing equipment, and keeping hands clear of moving materials. Recognizing hazards early helps ensure everyone goes home safely.
