“Jenny and me was like peas and carrots.” 🤍
Friendship can be so much more than having someone to laugh with.
Sometimes it’s having someone who notices when you’re a little quieter than usual.
Someone who asks, “Are you okay?” and actually waits for the answer.
Someone who lets you talk without trying to fix everything.
Someone who gets you out of the house. Someone who makes you laugh on a day you didn’t feel much like smiling. Someone who reminds you that you matter when your own mind is telling you otherwise.
And sometimes, that friendship comes from the most unexpected places.
Different ages. Different backgrounds. Different stages of life. It doesn’t matter.
Connection matters.
You may never know how important your friendship is to someone. You may never know that the phone call you made, the invitation you extended, the ridiculous thing you sent just to make them laugh, or the simple “Hey, I was thinking about you” came on a day when they desperately needed to feel remembered.
So check on your people.
And not just the ones who look like they’re struggling.
Check on the funny friend.
The strong friend.
The busy friend.
The friend who is always checking on everyone else.
The friend who seems completely fine.
Sometimes the greatest thing we can give another person is simply the reminder:
You don’t have to do life alone. I’m here.
This Su***de Prevention Month, be somebody’s friend. Be somebody’s safe place. Be somebody who notices. 💜🩵
