Most companies in our industry are taught to focus on one thing first: profit margin. That often means installing the least expensive equipment and materials possible—then selling it at the highest margin they can.
At Dynamic Air Conditioning & Heating, we believe that approach says a lot. And honestly, it tells us they’re not thinking about the long-term comfort or well-being of your home.
Here’s why that matters.
When a company is truly committed to doing every step the right way, the cost of doing the job goes up. It’s more work and requires more skilled labor. Higher-quality equipment, proper system design, better insulation values, thicker metal, correct airflow practices, skilled labor, and taking the extra time to do things correctly all add cost to the job.
If that company only raises their price slightly to stay competitive with contractors who are cutting corners, their profit margin naturally are lower.
Unfortunately, the opposite often wins.
A company using lower-quality brands, thinner materials, reduced insulation values, and rushed installation practices can appear more competitive on price—while actually making significantly higher profit margins. From the outside, it may look like the company doing things correctly is “charging more,” when in reality the cheaper option simply short-changed you on quality. Over time, those companies grow wealthier by delivering poorer systems.
We have had investors demonstrate this business model to us for many years. Our answer remains, NO. We will do the best work and accept lower profit margins, but we won’t cheat people out of their hard earned money for our selfish profit margins. We will do it right or we won’t do it at all.
The effects of those shortcuts don’t always show up immediately. Which is why it works. You may end up living in a more humid home or constantly having to turn the thermostat lower just to feel comfortable. Both of those situations cost you money every month—and for years over the life of the equipment. Utility costs quickly absorbing any saving you might have had from the initial installation. In many cases, homeowners don’t even realize there was an issue at installation until five or more years later.
Moisture that doesn’t belong inside refrigerant lines—often caused by improper installation practices—can take years to cause noticeable damage. By the time it does, labor warranties have expired and repairs become costly. (Again, absorbing any savings from the initial decision all while never being truly comfortable in your home.)
And this is often why those companies continue to get referred.
During the first few years, everything still looks good, everything seems normal, the system is running, and the original price felt appealing. But beneath the surface, issues may be quietly developing—issues that only reveal themselves with time.
What separates us is simple:
We don’t view ourselves as a business at all.
And you’re not a customer.
You’re our neighbor.
You’re our friend.
Because of that, every recommendation we make is based on one goal—making your home the best it can be, not what produces us the highest profit. Our margins are often lower because we choose top-tier materials, proven equipment, and highly skilled professionals—and we’re completely okay with that.
We go home each day knowing we did right by every family we served, never allowing higher profit margins to influence our recommendations.
That’s not just how we do HVAC.
That’s how we take care of our community.
