The abstract deadline has been extended to Friday, April 3.

If you've been working on your submission or haven’t started it yet, you now have the rest of the week to finish it.

This is the final extension. After April 3, the program is set and we'll begin working with the abstracts we have.

An abstract is a structured summary of the problem you solved, your approach and the result. The committee reviews for relevance and clarity, not perfection.

Final deadline: Friday, April 3

The GMC call for abstracts deadline is Monday, March 30.

If you've been thinking about submitting but haven't done it yet, here's what you need to know: an abstract isn't a finished paper. It's a structured summary of the problem you solved, your approach and the result.

If you can describe those three things clearly, you're ready.

The planning committee reviews for relevance and clarity, not polish.

Choose from a short course, technical paper, mini-short course or industry innovation spotlight and submit before Monday.

The GMC 2026 program is being built around six core challenges the industry is navigating.

If your work touches any of these areas, we want to hear from you:

→ Energy Transition & Decarbonization (Hydrogen, Carbon Capture, RNG, LNG)
→ Reliability & Advanced Analytics (AI, Remote Monitoring, Data Transformation)
→ Core Compression Technology (Centrifugal & Reciprocating, efficiency, Electric vs. Gas Drivers)
→ Emissions & Regulatory Compliance (EPA compliance, fugitive emissions, monitoring)
→ Critical Systems Integrity (Vibration/Pulsation, Gas Turbines, Reciprocating Engines)
→ Foundational Research & Safety (Applied research, operational best practices)

You don't need a finished paper to submit an abstract. Just a clear summary of the problem you addressed, the approach you took and the result you achieved.

Abstract deadline: March 30

You know compressors are critical. But do you know when to use reciprocating versus centrifugal?

For new engineers, the operational differences aren't always clear. For experienced engineers, the cost tradeoffs can blur over time. Selecting the wrong technology affects CAPEX, OPEX and long-term performance.

Next week's virtual training gives you a 3-hour reset on the fundamentals. You'll learn the core operational principles of each type, how to size them properly and when to deploy which technology based on real-world case studies.

The session walks through CAPEX versus OPEX comparisons and helps you build confidence in compressor selection decisions you'll face in the field.

Two weeks left.

If you've been sitting on a breakthrough because you're not sure it's "conference-ready," now's the time to submit it.

The GMC planning committee isn't looking for perfect presentations. They're looking for solutions that come from real operating conditions. The kind of work that helps someone else's team avoid a failure or solve a problem faster.

👉 The deadline to submit your abstract is the end of this month, on March 30.

Pick the format that fits your work (short course, technical paper, mini-short course or industry innovation spotlight) and submit your abstract.

What challenge did your team solve this year that others will face next?

Maybe it's a compressor reliability issue you traced back to an unexpected root cause. A way to meet emissions targets without blowing the budget. A vibration solution that actually held up in the field.

The 2026 Gas Machinery Conference is looking for that work.

We're accepting abstracts through March 30 for Short Courses, Mini-Short Courses, Technical Papers and Industry Innovation Spotlights (replacing Tech Updates). The planning committee wants to hear about the breakthroughs that came from real operating conditions, not theory.

If you've tested it, proven it and know it works, your peers need to hear it.

Today, we pause to honor the veterans who have served our country—and who continue to serve through their work in the energy industry.

At GMRC, we’re proud to work alongside those who bring the same dedication, teamwork, and sense of purpose to advancing gas machinery research and reliability.

To all who have worn the uniform and now help power our shared future, thank you.

In today’s natural gas operations, understanding how reciprocating compressors perform isn’t just a maintenance concern. It’s a reliability advantage.

Next week's virtual workshop offers a practical introduction to reciprocating compressor systems, from the fundamentals of load control and gas compression to how performance models and operating maps drive better decisions across teams, from Gas Control to Data Analytics.

Whether you’re new to compression or expanding your technical range, you’ll gain a clear understanding of how these systems work, how to use their data effectively, and how they impact safety and efficiency across your operation.
