Chilled water equipment failures due to pipe freezing can be very costly for your customers. Performing proper maintenance checks can prevent these failures from happening. Here are a few things to keep in mind while performing maintenance on chilled water equipment, or getting a new customer ready for the cold weather.

- Chiller evaporator heaters
- Cooling tower basin heaters
- Heat trace on piping
- Tight and secure pipe insulation
- Pump control during low ambient conditions
- Chiller OAT sensor accuracy
- Chiller lock out temperature
- Glycol levels
- Properly and completely drained system during long term storage.
