Latest from Oil Price (https://rb.gy/a7zmg8):
-
Analysts predict that surging non-OPEC+ oil production, coupled with substantial storage capacity within the OPEC+ group, will exert continued downward pressure on crude oil prices in 2024.

Despite potential geopolitical disruptions, the likelihood of oil prices reaching $100 a barrel appears low, given the rapid and unexpected rise in American oil production and exports. OPEC+ attempts to control global oil supply with announced cuts for Q1 2024, but faces challenges from record-breaking U.S. production and increased output from non-OPEC+ nations.

Brazil, invited to join OPEC+, has indicated it won't participate in production cuts. While OPEC+ aims to support oil prices, analysts suggest success may be limited, especially if cuts aren't extended beyond March 2024.

Shell Offshore Inc., a subsidiary of Shell plc, has given the green light for a campaign to boost oil production in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico. The phased project involves drilling three wells in the Great White unit of the Perdido spar, expected to produce up to 22,000 boed collectively by April 2025.

This investment underscores Shell's commitment to the U.S. Gulf, known for its low greenhouse gas intensity. Perdido, operational since 2010, is located 200 miles south of Galveston, Texas. Shell, the leading operator in the U.S. Gulf, aims to unlock greater value from this resource.

Niger plans to begin exporting its first crude oil in January, announced military leader Abdourahamane Tiani on state television. The commercial exports are set to commence from the Cotonou port in Benin.

Tiani, the commander of Niger’s presidential guard, assumed the role of head of state in July after a military-led ousting of President Mohammed Bazoum.

Despite concerns about uranium deliveries following the coup, Euratom stated there was no immediate risk to supply, as reported by Reuters.

Latest from World Oil (https://shorturl.at/prDW0):
-
(Bloomberg) – Chevron Corp. followed competitor Exxon Mobil Corp. in raising planned capital spending as the biggest U.S. oil operators seek to increase long-term crude production.

Global expenditures will reach a range of $18.5 billion to $19.5 billion in 2024, up from $17 billion this year, San Ramon, California-based Chevron said Wednesday. The Permian basin will account for the largest portion of that investment at $5 billion.

Chevron’s financial performance was the strongest of all the oil supermajors through the pandemic, but its stock has declined roughly 20% this year — twice the drop seen for Exxon — as investors fretted about growth potential outside the Permian.

Latest from Oil Price (https://shorturl.at/GJU28):
-
In a deja vu moment for UN climate change conferences, participating nations are once again quarreling about whether to demand a full phase-out of fossil fuels, a claim Saudi Arabia already denounced as unrealistic.

Climate change watchers have lashed out at the president of COP28 Sultan al-Jaber for saying the world cannot afford to go “back into caves” and it needs fossil energy for sustainable development, a claim they allege contradicts the UN’s own agenda.
