It takes a lot of hands to reach the top of a 23-story building.

We topped out 250 Church in College Station (AKA Honcho), now the tallest building in the city. Getting here took months of trust and partnership between our team and every trade partner on site.

To mark it, we had a delicious lunch and handed out prizes, as a thanks for the people who made this milestone possible. We are excited for this next phase as we continue to bring Parallel vision to life alongside Rhode Partners. 👍

We couldn't let our interns leave without one final test. 📝

Call it a going-back-to-school special. We tested their knowledge individually, then had them take the same test again as a team. Sharing what you know beats going it alone. Stronger together, in every sense!

After swapping summer recaps and vlogs, we toured the RO Dallas office renovation with CEO Justin McAfee, who fielded some sharp questions from the group.

We finished the day at Top Golf, where the competition got real and the only photos anyone remembered to take were of the winners.

For several of them, this isn't goodbye. It's see you later. A number of our interns will be back full time after they graduate.

We are so grateful to each intern for their time and talents!

It has been a busy summer for our Waco team, and not just on the projects going up around town!

It started with a "Howdy Neighbor" cookout in the parking lot at the historic Roosevelt Tower, where RO Prime cooked and served lunch for the folks who share our corner of downtown. Good food, good conversation, and a chance to get to know the people who make Downtown Waco feel like home.

The team also invested in the next generation of Waco, with a gift to the Waco ISD Education Foundation scholarship fund and a sponsorship of the Waco ISD Leadership Retreat, where one of our own joined as a guest speaker. Later in the summer, they worked the course at the TriWaco Triathlon in Indian Spring Park, cheering on competitors including RO's own Nolan Reynolds!

We build in this community and we are glad to be part of it, too.

The future of this industry is already on our jobsites! 👷‍♀️👷‍♀️

This year we welcomed 34 incredible interns across Texas. They jumped in, asked questions, and helped push real projects forward.

We're grateful to each of them for the time they put into learning, and impressed by how far they've come.

Happy National Intern Day, we can't wait to see how you shape this industry!

We've got to know... what's your Kona Ice flavor? Tiger's Blood, Piña Colada, Blue Raspberry, or a mystery combo?

The ice melts fast out here, and so does your energy. Protecting life and well-being is our first job, and in this Texas heat that means watching for heat illness. Hydrate, take your breaks, and look out for each other.

Shout-out to the team at Fields West in Frisco for looking out for their crew and trade partners, and to Coy Wilson for setting up something cool for everyone. 🍧

Healthcare work often means building inside a hospital that stays open around you.

That was the case at St. Luke's Baptist Hospital, where our San Antonio team completed a 15,000-square-foot renovation of the Level 1 emergency department. The scope also included exterior site improvements, a new ER drive-up entrance, and a dedicated ambulance loading and offloading area, all delivered while the ED stayed in service.

Thank you to Baptist Health System, Tenet Healthcare and O'Connell Robertson for the partnership, and to the field team that planned every phase around patient care.

"The difference between people who solve problems well and people who just react to them is rarely intelligence. It's discipline." - Matt Curry, Project Manager at RO

There's a myth in our industry, he writes, that problem-solving is reserved for the corner office. 15 years in, Matt disagrees.

He's got it down to four questions that work the same for a first-year field engineer as they do for a project executive. If you're just getting started in this industry, read this one twice: https://r-o.com/building-better-solutions-a-practical-framework-for-problem-solving/

Field Notes is a new blog series where our builders share what the job is teaching them. Thanks for kicking it off, Matt!

Y'all, it is hot in Texas. 🥵

Protecting life and well-being is the priority on every RO site. Some days that means enjoying a cold treat. Our San Antonio teams brought Kona Ice snow cones on site and our Austin teams handed out ice cream.

Heat illness can impact anyone, so stay hydrated, take breaks and watch out for your friends and co-workers.

Thank you to our project teams and trade partners!

You don't usually hear from us directly, but we're the marketing team behind the RFPs, the pursuits, the socials, the signage, and the stories you see from RO. We usually let the work speak for itself, but today, the work needs a favor.

Last year, we built a recruitment and retention campaign that's now a National Society for Marketing Professional Services finalist! It's also up for the People's Choice Award, and that's the one thing we can't win on our own.

We love telling RO's stories, and your vote would mean the world to our team. Thank you, and ROck on!

South Austin has a new home for healthcare.

Working with Austin Regional Clinic - ARC South Specialty and the Lawrence Group, our team delivered a 64,000 SF medical facility, combining a medical office building with an ambulatory surgery center and four operating rooms. Building on a three-lot site along one of Austin's busiest corridors took careful planning and steady coordination from start to finish.

Thanks to Austin Regional Clinic: ARC for trusting us with another project in Central Texas, and to the RO team and trade partners who brought it to life together.
