Zach Wald, Vice President of Engineering, Procurement, and Construction at Vesper Energy, shared his perspective with Reuters on the growing importance of workforce development across the U.S. power sector.

“In other areas where [power development] is newer, you certainly have to come in a little earlier and make sure you have a good training program and a well-thought-out plan to get that workforce built up,” said Wald.

Vesper Energy has been named to TIME's America’s Top GreenTech Companies of 2026, recognizing 250 U.S. companies advancing environmental innovation and strong business performance. Vesper ranked among the top 40 renewable energy companies nationwide.

The list, compiled by TIME in partnership with Statista, is based on an analysis of more than 3,500 companies. Rankings reflect performance across three core areas: environmental impact, financial strength, and innovation.

Vesper Energy promoted six individuals, reflecting the expanding scope of responsibility as the company advances its pipeline of solar and storage projects and grows its operating portfolio.

Since its official launch in April 2025, Vesper Energy’s Hornet Solar has generated over 1.5 million megawatt-hours (MWh) of electricity and more than $5 million in tax revenue for local entities, including:
Over $2.6 million to the Tulia Independent School District

Over $1.3 million through the Swisher County Tax Assessor

Over $600,000 to Swisher County through a Payment in Lieu of Taxes (PILOT) agreement

Over $300,000 to the Swisher County Memorial Hospital District

“Texas is growing fast, and so is the demand for reliable power. Hornet Solar has delivered more than 1.5 million megawatt-hours to the ERCOT grid in its first year and over five million dollars in tax revenue flowing directly to local schools, hospitals, and services in Swisher County,” said Juan Suarez, Co-CEO of Vesper Energy.

It was a great opportunity to update our landowners on our progress, answer questions, and share a delicious meal.

Vesper Energy recently collaborated with an independent filmmaking team to showcase our Hornet Solar project. The content captured highlighted Hornet's agricultural, community, and economic contributions to the Swisher County region.

Access to everyday essentials shouldn’t be a barrier to learning. The Gator Giving Closet, led by the Dickinson Education Foundation, serves 12,000+ students across Dickinson Independent School District by providing clothing and hygiene items so students can show up prepared, confident, and focused.

Through community giving tied to the Shepard Energy Storage project in Galveston County, TX, Vesper Energy provided a $3,000 grant to the Dickinson Education Foundation to support the Closet.

This effort came together through strong local partnerships, including Dickinson Gator Wellness, Citymark Church, and M.I. Lewis, who helped stock, organize, and prepare the space for students. We’re proud to support organizations that meet critical needs in their communities.

Members of Vesper Energy's Community Affairs, Communications, and Development Team recently attended the American Clean Power Association Siting and Permitting Conference in Aurora, Colorado. The conference provided a valuable opportunity to join peers across the industry to share perspectives, explore best practices, and advance conversations about the future of energy development.

Following the conference, the Communications and Community Affairs teams gathered in Denver, Colorado, for a strategic retreat to discuss future initiatives, establish strategies, and explore departmental tools and tactics to enhance communications.

Texas achieved a new record for solar energy, generating more than 33 gigawatts of electricity for the first time.

Vesper Energy’s Hornet Solar serves as a driving force in the Texas energy landscape, providing 600 megawatts of affordable, homegrown electricity to surrounding communities.
