Forecasted peak demand prompts ERCOT to issue conservation appeal
Thank you for trusting us with your electricity supply. We have some important information about grid conditions published by the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT). Freezing temperatures are prompting higher demand therefore ERCOT is requesting that homes and businesses conserve power Tuesday, Jan. 16 from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. CT to the extent that they safely can.

A weather watch is in effect in ERCOT thru Wednesday, Jan. 17 so there may be more conservation alerts. You can stay apprised and sign up for alerts on ERCOT’s advisory page.

International Women’s Day is observed annually on March 8 and celebrates the global “social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women,” according to the International Women’s Day website. The day also calls for action to advance gender equality. At the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department, we wanted to take a few minutes to celebrate International Women’s Day and recognize some of the talented women that work here.
