This week, we welcomed the Latino Academy Construction Pre-Apprenticeship Program to one of our jobsites!
Latino Academy's program prepares participants for careers in the skilled trades through certifications, career readiness, hands-on learning, and exposure to a variety of construction careers. We were excited to give the group a firsthand look at what we do here at Cru and all the opportunities that exist for a career in concrete construction.
A current crew member, Jerrson, started with Cru after his graduation of this same pre-apprenticeship program last August. He was able to share with the participants how the program helped prepare him for a career at Cru, and what his journey has looked like in his time with the company. In addition to being a skilled laborer on one of our foundation crews, Jerrson is also one of our Bilingual Training Assistants and works with new hires during their initial orientation and training program.
As our Training Manager, Liz, shared, it was a chance to "show the pride we take in our work, the career opportunities available at Cru, and the growth that is possible within the concrete industry". Thank you to Latino Academy for preparing the future of the trades and connecting people with meaningful career pathways.
