Derecktor Dania has over 50 years of experience in the new construction, repair, and refit of large motor yachts and sailing vessels. The location opened in South Florida in 1967 and covers more than 17 acres along the north side of the Dania Cut-Off Canal. As South Florida's most complete marine repair facility, Derecktor Dania caters mainly to motor yachts ranging in size from 30 to 65m. The fac

ility serves as a pole of attraction in the busy Florida waters for a growing fleet of mega- and super-yachts in need of maintenance, repairs and major refits. This 108' custom yacht came in for driveline service, including shaft seal service, cutlass bearing replacement, swim platform repairs, and running gear coatings, paired with hull bottom prep and anti-fouling application. She just launched successfully thanks to project management led by Derecktor’s Rob Hastie, our trades who executed the work, and our preferred partners for their support.

Exciting news from Derecktor New York!🥳

We’ve launched CAT 3, marking a major milestone in her build.

The team also recently completed the vessel’s deadweight survey, conducted by DeJong & Lebet in coordination with the U.S. Coast Guard. This important step kicks off the stability calculations required for the vessel’s stability letter.

With CAT 3 now in the water, the team will move into sea trials and U.S. Coast Guard testing as we work toward an October delivery.

On this 161’ vessel, our in-house paint crew handled the full scope from sanding and priming to full-hull tie coat and antifouling, all with a quick turnaround and results that speak for themselves.

S/Y Raven post-launch at Derecktor Fort Pierce after seven months on the hard. ⛵️

The well-known RORC Transatlantic Race winner, S/Y Raven, is back on the water following an extensive yard period at Derecktor Fort Pierce. Led by Senior Project Manager John Resnik, the yacht received a comprehensive series of upgrades designed to enhance speed, efficiency, and overall performance.

The scope included paint and non-skid applications, interior flooring and surface upgrades, race coatings on wetted surfaces, weight reduction initiatives, including fishbowl window modifications and teak removal, as well as custom welding, fabrication, and machining, foil removal and replacement, keel operations, mast step support, and specialized carbon fiber, rigging, sail, and electrical work.

The launch marked a major milestone in the project, with the mast stepped shortly afterward as the team brought the project to completion. Stay tuned for a behind-the-scenes look at the mast stepping process in our next update.

Sunset views you won’t find anywhere else. The world’s largest sloop, M5, stretches 246.7 feet across the dock at Derecktor Fort Pierce, making for a view that’s hard to top.

The Miss Dania Beach was part of Bob Derecktor’s vision for the future of the Port Everglades waterfront. His plan was to repurpose the vessel as a floating work dock, extending her usefulness well beyond her years at sea.

Following Bob’s passing, that vision was never realized.

To honor his legacy, Derecktor donated the vessel to the City of Dania Beach, where she was intentionally sunk and transformed into an artificial reef. Today, the Miss Dania Beach continues to serve a purpose beneath the surface, supporting marine life and creating a destination for divers.

While her future looked different than Bob originally envisioned, her story continues.
