Quick explainer on something that comes up a lot: what’s the difference
between a regular drone map and an RTK drone map?

Standard GPS on a drone is accurate to about 3–5 meters. Good enough for a photo,
not good enough if you need to measure something, verify earthwork, or give data to
an engineer.

RTK mapping uses a ground reference station to correct GPS error in real time. Add
physical ground control points and Pix4D processing, and you’re at ±2 cm accuracy.

That’s the difference between “here’s a picture of your site” and “here’s a
georeferenced map you can measure, annotate, and load into your GIS.”
