Reshoring means moving manufacturing back to the United States after years of doing it overseas, mostly in China.
So why now?
Tariffs made imports expensive. COVID exposed how fragile long supply chains really are. Lead times that used to be two weeks stretched to six months. Companies realized that saving money on the front end was costing them more on the back end.
So they are building here again.
The decision of where to build is now about certainty, speed, and long-term adaptability instead of cost.
The Mid-Ohio Valley checks those boxes. River access. I-77. A short drive to Pittsburgh, Columbus, and Charleston. A workforce that already knows manufacturing. And a state that is actively working to bring new industry in.
West Virginia recently introduced the WV Reshoring Manufacturing Act, offering tax incentives to businesses that commit to in-state production and workforce growth. The state is also investing millions to get industrial sites ready to build on immediately.
But a new manufacturer needs warehousing. Distribution. A logistics partner who knows the region and can grow with them.
That is where the MOV has always had an edge. Relationships. Responsiveness. Someone who picks up the phone.
The reshoring wave is coming. The question is whether the region is ready to catch it.
Curry Warehouses has been part of the MOV supply chain since the early 1900s. If you are expanding or evaluating the region, we want to be part of that conversation.
