Reshoring means moving manufacturing back to the United States after years of doing it overseas, mostly in China.

So why now?

Tariffs made imports expensive. COVID exposed how fragile long supply chains really are. Lead times that used to be two weeks stretched to six months. Companies realized that saving money on the front end was costing them more on the back end.

So they are building here again.

The decision of where to build is now about certainty, speed, and long-term adaptability instead of cost.

The Mid-Ohio Valley checks those boxes. River access. I-77. A short drive to Pittsburgh, Columbus, and Charleston. A workforce that already knows manufacturing. And a state that is actively working to bring new industry in.

West Virginia recently introduced the WV Reshoring Manufacturing Act, offering tax incentives to businesses that commit to in-state production and workforce growth. The state is also investing millions to get industrial sites ready to build on immediately.

But a new manufacturer needs warehousing. Distribution. A logistics partner who knows the region and can grow with them.

That is where the MOV has always had an edge. Relationships. Responsiveness. Someone who picks up the phone.

The reshoring wave is coming. The question is whether the region is ready to catch it.

Curry Warehouses has been part of the MOV supply chain since the early 1900s. If you are expanding or evaluating the region, we want to be part of that conversation.

"Leaders win through logistics."
Tom Peters wrote that in 2001. It still holds.

Vision gets the headlines.
Logistics gets the result.
You can build the best product in your category. It does not ship itself.

The promise is made in the plant.
The promise is kept on the dock.

Curry has moved and stored goods in the Mid-Ohio Valley since the early 1900s. The job never changed. Right thing, right place, right time. Every time.

So here is what we do.
Warehousing, material processing and 3PL that flex around your operation.
Space when volume spikes.
Speed when your customer is waiting.
A real person who picks up on a Friday afternoon.

We treat your freight like it carries our name. Because it does.
If you make things in this region, we want to know you.

You didn't start a manufacturing company to manage warehouse labor.

But here you are.

Scheduling receiving windows. Chasing inventory counts. Fielding calls when a shipment goes sideways.

Paying for space you only need half the year.

That is time and capital sitting inside a problem you were never supposed to own.

Here is what we see from operators who make the switch:

They stop losing Monday mornings to fulfillment fires.
They stop carrying fixed overhead through slow seasons.
They stop being the person their team calls at 9pm because a load is short.

Curry has been handling warehousing and 3PL in the Mid-Ohio Valley since the early 1900s.

Family owned. Privately operated.

Built around one thing: making your supply chain somebody else's problem, so you can focus on yours.

Flexible space. Fast integration. A team that picks up the phone.

If your logistics operation is running you instead of the other way around, it is time to talk.

The 1920's, the decade that Curry started doing business in this town with horse and buggy. In this time, the oil boom that defined the area was starting to shut down. Around this time, the American Viscose Corporation opened a massive rayon plant on the edge of town that would become the city's largest employer, drawing thousands of workers and their families into the area.

Market street was a bustling center at the time, and Camden Theater eventually even had Houdini perform at a time, though it burned down eventually. Julia-Ann street was a showcase of old money from the oil days, and the homes were taken care of. Passenger rail eventually brought in even more people, until the Federal Aid Highway Act of 1956 redirected national investment toward roads, killing passenger rail and giving the B&O, Amtrak, and CSX the justification to cut service and tear out the tracks that connected Parkersburg to the rest of the country.

With the development of Grand Central Ave and car infrastructure, most of the money in the town moved away from Downtown, but many landmarks still remain. Now, the city is working to revitalize downtown, and bring purpose and character back. Community events, businesses, Point Park, and the art center all help drive life back into the area. What ideas do you think might help breathe life into our downtown area?

Curry is a last name before it's a company name.

That's something people forget about family businesses. There's no board meeting where somebody decided to "build a brand." There's just a name that kept showing up. On leases. On handshakes. At home. On the side of warehouses and trucks in Parkersburg since the early 1900s.
The work and responsibility changes, but the name, and the family stays the same.

Warehouse construction is booming across the U.S. right now.
New facilities are going up in markets that wouldn't have made anyone's shortlist five years ago. And the reasons behind it tell you a lot about where the industry is headed.

E commerce demand keeps climbing. Reshoring is pulling manufacturing back stateside. Supply chain leaders who got burned by too few options in too few places are spreading their footprint on purpose. The result is that warehouse space is expanding into secondary markets at a quicker pace than we saw before.
Here's what that means:

The old playbook of clustering everything near major port cities is shifting. Companies want to be closer to their end customers. They want redundancy. They want options. And smaller metro areas with strong infrastructure, lower costs, and a willing workforce are getting a serious look.
That's the Mid Ohio Valley.

We've been here since the early 1900s. We've watched industries come and go, supply chains evolve, and the definition of "strategic location" change more than once. What hasn't changed is the need for a warehousing partner who actually picks up the phone, adapts when your needs shift, and treats your product like their own.

New warehouses are great. But a building is just a building. What makes a 3PL partner valuable is the people inside it, the flexibility they offer, and the years of experience behind every decision they make.
If you're rethinking your warehousing strategy or exploring new markets, let's have a conversation.

Midweek reminder from a guy who conquered most of Europe.

Napoleon understood that you can have the best product, the best team, the best plan on paper. None of it matters if you can't move it, store it, and deliver it when and where it needs to be.

Logistics is the backbone of every operation. Always has been. Always will be.
We've been proving that since the early 1900s right here in the Mid Ohio Valley. While industries have shifted, technology has evolved, and supply chains have gotten more complex, one thing has stayed the same: the companies that win are the ones who get the logistics right.

That means having a partner who picks up the phone. Who adapts when your needs change. Who treats your product like their own.

That's what we do at Curry Warehouses every day.

If you're looking for a warehousing and 3PL partner that moves with you, let's talk.

There's a reason we've been in Parkersburg since the 1920s.

We grew up here. We built here. We stayed here. While a lot of companies in this industry chase the coasts or the big metro hubs, we planted roots in the Mid Ohio Valley and never left.

That was on purpose.

When you're family owned and locally operated for over a hundred years, your reputation is personal. Every handshake matters. Every load matters. Every phone call gets answered by someone who actually cares about the outcome.

We know the roads. We know the river. We know the manufacturers and the producers in this region because we've been working alongside them for generations.

That kind of familiarity builds something you can't replicate with a national contract and a 1 800 number.

Trust in logistics is earned over years. We've had a century to earn it.

And home isn't just where we operate. It's how we operate. We treat your product like it's ours. We treat your deadlines like they're ours. Because in a small town, your name is your business. And our name has been on the building since your great grandparents were around.

If you need warehousing, 3PL, or distribution support in the Mid Ohio Valley, give us a call. We'd love to show you what a century of doing things right looks like.

The reshoring wave is picking up speed.

Billions in new manufacturing commitments have landed in just the last few months, where steel mills are reopening. Pharma companies are building domestic production lines. Semiconductor plants are making headway.

But those headlines usually leave something out...

Every new production line creates a downstream logistics problem. Raw materials need staging. Finished goods need storage. Overflow needs somewhere to go when demand outpaces the plan. And in manufacturing, demand always outpaces the plan.
Nobody's asking the question: where does all of this product actually go once it's made?

That's where 3PL partners step in.
The manufacturers who thrive through this shift won't just have the newest equipment. They'll have flexible warehousing partners. Partners who pick up the phone, learn the operation, and figure out solutions before the loading dock gets backed up.

In the Mid Ohio Valley, we sit in a region built around making things. Mostly plastics, chemicals and polymers. These industries didn't leave. As new production comes online across the heartland, demand for dependable warehousing near these facilities is only going to grow.

Curry Warehouses has been here since the 1920s. Family owned. Privately operated. A hundred years of survival teaches you one thing: stay flexible, stay fast, and never assume you know what's coming next.

If your production is expanding and your warehousing plan hasn't caught up, let's talk.
