There have been roughly 3 runs of BOTH the GFS and EURO models showing this- so I figured I would post it.

Inside a week, and the most recent 06z runs of the global models are showing a significant wind chill event for us this weekend.

Sunday morning could feel like the single digits and teens for all of Central Florida.

This can, and I sure hope will change- but I also wanted to give you the heads up...

Can't say I can ever remember a cold snap getting more play than this one. Looks like we're still in store for freezing temps (and numerous "Snuggle Alerts") next weekend.

Setting your thermostat too low will only strain your air conditioner, which already has to work harder on hot days, and increase how much energy you’re using.

Kids can get free meals at 55 county sites this summer

Volusia County’s Community Assistance Division is sponsoring a Summer Food Service Program from June 6 through Aug. 12 to provide free breakfast and lunch meals for children and teens 18 and under. The program, funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, provides nutritionally balanced meals during summer break when schools are closed.

Fifty-five organizations throughout the county have volunteered to serve meals at their locations on weekdays. Children must eat their meals on site.
