Today we’re over in the machining department for another little lesson! So far, this part has been sawed to size and engraved with its part number. Next up is an “Electroless Nickel” coating:

The part is dipped into a warm chemical bath containing nickel salts and a reducing agent like sodium hypophosphite. The chemical reaction causes nickel ions to reduce into metallic nickel on the surface of the part, evenly coating it. This process forms corrosion resistance, protecting the part from rust and harsh chemical environments; No electricity needed!👏🏼
