Mantel Makeover.

Wrapped up this project yesterday. Although a fine looking fireplace, the general consensus was "too bricky" and the power to the TV were cords draped off to the side to the nearest outlet. It was decided to use the recessed portion of the fireplace to have the outlet and just go straight across allowing more flexibility in other design aspects.

Alright, this post will have too many pictures because I can't decide on angles that represent the project best and I like to show the process sometimes.

Just wrapped this one up though. Sickness, winter weather, vehicle troubles didn't stop me either, ha.

Whole room makeover. Tongue and groove Eastern pine boards. This Master Bedroom project is one of several projects for this home that I'll post eventually, mostly cosmetic stuff like scraping and skimcoating over popcorn ceilings, painting, some custom woodworking, etc.

Quick cabinet job before Christmas. Owner's new machines were too big for the bifold doors to close so it was decided to go with an open concept laundry area. After removing door jambs, shelves, then a little patch work, cabinets clean it all up and make for a nice looking space.

Cabinets were made to irregular sizing to maximize storage and function.

Double feature at a friend's house. New staircase in the beginning of the summer then came back by the end of it to help knock out the 16x20 shed. He and his dad did the platform then we knocked out the structure over Labor Day weekend.

Quick shiplap ceiling job managed to squeeze in during the summer. Homeowner bought the material from Lowes and I was pleasantly surprised with the product itself. Cost vs quality was there and actually recommended it to another client elsewhere.

Originally they were thinking of some prefab, overpriced synthetic beams to install at the peak, while trying to be conscientious of cost so I suggested we could do way better and make our own.

Recent custom cabinetry project.

Two floor to ceiling adjustable bookshelves, 12in deep, 36 wide accompanied by a 14in deep, 64in long, 30in high cabinet base with a shiplap backdrop and additional upper shelf.

Replaces a deeper built-in with a radiator running the width of the room. Customer wanted to slim things down a notch. An in-cabinet toe kick heater replaces the radiator bringing a polished appearance. "Before" photo at the end...

Boxes built and sanded, ready for paint. Off to make the shelves for the towers and doors for the center unit.

Just a tapin' job. No hanging, no carpentry, just slinging compound. Good to break it up every now and again.
