Due to planned work activities, neighbors will notice elevated flaring at the facility. This will result in a small to medium sized orange flame, visible from our facility, that is expected to continue over the next few weeks. We are taking steps to minimize any noise, light, or smoke associated with this flaring activity.

The flares play a key role in keeping our plant safe. Once flared, the hydrocarbon has been safely treated, and potential emissions have been reduced by at least 98%. There is no threat to the community or our industry neighbors. We will continue to keep the community informed through CAER Online and our social media channels.

Effective April 1, 2026, Bill Watson will be retiring from Shell, following an exceptional 35-year career with the company.

At the same time, we are pleased to announce that effective April 1st, 2026, Rob Perrotta, our current Production Manager, will be appointed Vice President.

We thank Bill for his leadership, and we wish him all the best in his well‑deserved retirement. We are excited to welcome Rob into his new role as Vice President and are confident he will continue to champion strong community partnerships, including our longstanding involvement with the East Harris County Manufacturers Association & Deer Park Community Advisory Council.

Thanks to our employees’ commitment to ACE Safety Observations, our site had the incredible opportunity to help grant a wish for Sophia through Make-A-Wish Texas Gulf Coast and Louisiana.

While we celebrated the news last year, Sophia and her family celebrated this month at Disney for Sophia's birthday. This trip was made possible by the dedication and hearts of our team.

We are so grateful to everyone who contributed. And we so hope Sophia had a wonderful birthday with all the princesses just like her.
