We connect them & their teachers to science through the stories and innovations of today's young entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurs and elementary kids share an abundance of curiosity and creativity. We want to inspire the next generation of inventors and entrepreneurs. What better way to acknowledge these two wonderful traits that lead to so many magnificent discoveries than to combine them in a name?
Creo (create) + Sity (curiosity) = CreositySpace
OUR ROOTS:
CreositySpace was inspired by Peg’s son, Will, when he was in second grade. An “ideas guy” since first grade—from mechanical brain parts to help people and nanosolar chips in city sidewalks to generate solar hot water to prosthetic arms for active military personnel run on brain waves and pineapple enzymes as cancer killers—Will applied everything he was learning in school and at home into his play and “inventions.” Leveraging her tech-entrepreneur network, Peg organized a practical, hands-on program to introduce 3rd graders to STEM in a real manner. HOW DO WE WORK WITH ELEMENTARY CLASSROOMS? Our company is on a mission to inspire the next generation of STEM entrepreneurs and professionals by making STEM current, real and relatable for elementary kids and their teachers. CreositySpace translates the technology discoveries and personal stories of young entrepreneurs to design integrated, project-based, supplemental curriculum that includes ELA, math and science standards to help elementary teachers integrate STEM concepts into every class and empower future STEM professionals. WHY ENTREPRENEURS? We partner with STEM entrepreneurs and their startup companies because they are uniquely positioned to inspire young students in STEM. They represent the diversity of STEM professions and professionals and are on the front lines of innovation launching technology startups, conducting forward-looking research, and creating new products to solve complex industrial and social challenges. Their stories help kids tap into their natural creativity and curiosity at a time when they ask, “What do I want to do when I grow up?”
As part of the Creosity vision, we aim to build a national network of K-12 schools linked to their local and regional innovation hubs, beginning in New York and Washington states.
