As many of you may know, Tank Services and our industry has suffered a profound loss last week with the passing of our friend Jeff Pohovey.
Jeff began working at Tank Services in October of 1981 and his tenure included 45 of the 52 years the company has been in existence.
Jeff loved his work at Tank Services and the corrosion industry. He was very proud of his long tenure here.
Due to the great work that he accomplished over the past 45 years plus his deep knowledge and experience, Jeff Pohovey became synonymous with Tank Services and Tank Services became synonymous with him.
He had a thirst for knowledge, a keen intellect to apply to complex problems, and the creativity to provide unique solutions to our customer base.
He built long, enduring relationships with customers, vendors, and employees and quickly won them over with the breadth and depth of his knowledge, ingenuity, and calm, humble, professional bearing and manner.
He was committed to doing great work every day, no matter how he felt or how difficult or challenging the work was.
At the age of 64 and a short time before he had been diagnosed with his illness, he entered a 12’ trench, sprayed 50’ of below-ground coating with no holidays or imperfections. He was uniquely gifted in his work.
He was a tremendous resource for our customers and of course our employees, mentoring them to add to their skill sets and improving on their professional knowledge and experience.
As terrific of a corrosion professional and project manager that he was, he was an even BETTER person.
He was a gentleman and a gentle man, always willing to lend a helping hand.
We were inspired by his even temperament and the grace and dignity he displayed while battling his illness.
We are very grateful for the meaningful difference he made in many of our lives, and he will be sorely missed. Our condolences to his family and all of those that loved him as there were many.
Tank Services is dedicated to carrying on Jeff’s legacy.
Rest in peace, Jeff Pohovey
