To engage with our local and global communities, we promote a participatory culture in the blending of art + science. xREZ Art + Science Lab integrates a creative studio workspace with a research lab. We forge productive paths that harness the unique creative forces found at the intersection of the arts, sciences and humanities to open new portals of imagination, knowledge and communication. Our v
isionary team is composed of students, faculty and collaborators working in computer science, new media arts, anthropology, math, behavioral psychology, photography, music, journalism, information science, engineering, hospitality management, communications, urban ecology, geospatial analysis, art education, political science, history, and biomedicine. We create breakthrough solutions to problems that require collaboration across disciplines by developing emerging technologies, new knowledge, public engagement, and cross-sector partnerships. We explore various research/creative topics including but not limited to: VR, AR, AI, machine learning, new media, algorithms, spatial computing, robotics, 3D segmentation, generative art, coding, data, social justice, design, public art, space art, interactive and generative sound, cognition, presence and expertise in virtual realities, human-computer interaction, video games, accessibility, museum experiences and more. We are a part of the College of Visual Art and Design (CVAD) at the University of North Texas (UNT) in Denton.
