Hey neighbors, sharing some photos from a roof and gutter cleaning job we just finished because the before and after really tells the story.
Leaves and debris packed into the roof valleys had already started breaking down the shingles, you can see the torn shingles around the pipe jack in the photos. Wet debris sitting against shingles causes mildew and discoloration, and if it's left long enough it deteriorates the shingles completely.
The gutters were packed too, full of wet leaves that had made them heavy enough to start pulling away from the roofline, and completely clogged so rainwater had nowhere to go.
Here's something a lot of homeowners don't realize: when gutters can't drain properly, water pours straight off the roof edge and hits the ground right next to your house. That's what causes those trenches and ruts in the yard along the side of the house and near flower beds. It also affects your foundation over time.
After a spring like this one across North Texas, with all the rain and storm debris, it's worth taking a look at your gutters and roof valleys before summer heat bakes everything in.
We do free inspections across Denton County and all of North Texas. Happy to answer any questions here too! π‘
