Today we commemorate Women’s Equality Day, marking the certification of the 19th Amendment on August 26, 1920—the historic moment that secured women’s right to vote in the United States after more than 70 years of determined advocacy.

We honor the generations of women who came before us—the trailblazers who fought tirelessly for the right to vote, to work, to lead, and to be heard. Their courage and persistence opened doors that many of us walk through today.

At Calico, we are grateful for their legacy and remain committed to building a workplace where every voice is valued and every contribution matters.

Here’s to the women who paved the way—and to those continuing the journey.

Honoring Those Who Go Where Others Can’t. 🇺🇸

August 16 is National Airborne Day, honoring the U.S. Army’s airborne forces and the paratroopers who have served in them.

The date marks August 16, 1940, when the Army’s Parachute Test Platoon made its first official jump at Fort Benning, Georgia. That small platoon helped pave the way for the airborne divisions that fought in Sicily, Normandy, and Holland—and for units like the 82nd Airborne that continue the mission today.

Airborne units are built to deploy quickly and operate in demanding environments—from tropical and coastal conditions to heat, dust, and desert. Corrosion and wear control becomes part of daily readiness, not just periodic maintenance.

That’s where advanced coatings play an important role, helping protect critical components from corrosion, friction, and wear when performance matters most.
