Before the first freeze, protect your pipes. 🥶

When water freezes, it expands about 9%, and that pressure can crack a pipe. A 1/8-inch crack can leak up to 250 gallons a day.

Four ways to protect your property this winter:
• Insulate exposed pipes in attics, crawl spaces and garages.
• Let faucets drip on the coldest nights.
• Keep the heat at 55°F or higher, even in empty spaces.
• Disconnect hoses and drain outdoor spigots.

We always enjoy the opportunity to connect with industry partners, catch up with familiar faces, and build new relationships at CAHED events. This one was no exception!

Continuing through Fire Prevention Week, we’re focusing on the everyday habits that can help reduce risk before there’s ever an emergency.

Keeping charging areas clear, using batteries and chargers properly, and recognizing warning signs early can all help reduce fire risk across your property.

Fire prevention starts long before there’s an emergency.

During Fire Prevention Week, take a few minutes to look around your property for the small things that can become bigger risks: dry debris, stressed landscaping, combustible materials near buildings, and buildup on roofs or in gutters.

A little preparation now can make a big difference later.

Heavy rain is expected across Colorado today, with some areas potentially seeing several inches of rainfall and an increased risk of flooding, ponding, and water intrusion.

Now is the time to clear drains and gutters, check low-lying areas, verify sump pumps and protect vulnerable equipment or materials.

What a great time at Elevate Charities’ Annual Charity Golf Tournament at Fairbanks Ranch Country Club in Rancho Santa Fe!

We had such a fun day out on the course, catching up with familiar faces, meeting new ones and enjoying some friendly competition along the way.

Elevate Charities does incredible work supporting seniors, caregivers, employees and families throughout the senior healthcare community, helping provide resources, education and support when it’s needed most. We’re always grateful for the opportunity to support an organization doing so much good for the people in our industry.

A huge thank you to Elevate Charities for bringing everyone together for such a great event. We loved getting to connect, support a great cause and get a few swings in while we were at it.
