Severe weather can move fast, but good documentation can make a big difference once the storm has passed.

For property managers, documenting damage early helps create a clearer record for repairs, insurance conversations, and next steps. Photos, dates, visible damage, resident or tenant reports, drainage issues, and any temporary mitigation can all help tell the full story.

When storms hit, don’t just look for the obvious damage. Roofs, gutters, downspouts, siding, windows, common areas, and interior signs of water intrusion are all worth checking.

Good documentation NOW can help prevent confusion later.

This Memorial Day, we’re honored to share a small piece of Brent Johnson Harris’ story, the grandfather of one of our team members.

Born on June 19, 1927, Brent was inducted into the U.S. Navy shortly after turning 18, during the final months of World War II. He completed bootcamp in San Diego and later served aboard the U.S.S. Alaska (CB-1), where his battle station was with a 20-mm gun crew. He was honorably discharged on August 8, 1946, and later continued his education through the GI Bill.

Now, at nearly 99 years old, Brent’s story is still being told through family photos, journal entries, and the personal creed he wrote for himself. His words offer a beautiful glimpse into the kind of man he worked to be: someone committed to service, faith, humility, learning, and helping others.

On Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. We also hold space for the families, friends, and fellow service members who carried those memories forward.

Brent’s life is a reminder that history is not just found in textbooks. Sometimes, it is tucked inside a journal, written in someone’s own words, and passed down through family.

While part of our team was in Utah last week, another Togala crew was here in Denver at the AAMD Education Conference & Trade Show.

We chatted with multifamily property owners, managers, and industry partners throughout the day. From meaningful conversations to a very fun circus theme, it was an event full of great energy, new connections, and plenty of memorable moments.

Getting to be part of those conversations, share insight, and speak at the University of Utah made the experience even more memorable.

Project complete, community stronger. 🏡

Some of our team had the chance to attend Amberwood Post Acute’s Open House yesterday, and it was such a great reminder of why this work matters. It’s not just about construction. It’s about creating spaces where residents, staff, and families feel cared for.

We’re proud to have partnered with the Amberwood team and grateful to see the finished space being enjoyed with so much warmth, pride, and community behind it.

Every detail matters when the people inside matter most.

This week is National Hospital Week, and we want to take a moment to recognize the people who keep healthcare facilities moving every day.
