We had the opportunity to replace a boiler recently. This system was located in a closet in a ranch-style home. There was no way we could replace it where it was and still meet code requirements. The next best option was the crawlspace. We truly love what we do and it’s always fun to watch a project like this go from, “Why would somebody do this?” To “Now that’s how it’s done!”

Thursday’s temperatures are going to be arctic cold! Here’s a few tips to try to prepare:

•disconnecting outdoor hoses
•check furnace filters or get a furnace service (if you can)
•replace thermostat batteries
•if you’re traveling over the next few days for the holidays be sure to turn off water to your house to prevent coming home to frozen pipes.

Given the changing climate and extreme temperatures we’ve been experiencing, residential A/C units are more common than they have been in the past. The past couple years have definitely changed the way people view what is a comfortable household temperature.
