Last week, I (Stephanie) had the pleasure of sitting on the judging panel for 's EMBA Final Capstone Projects for the second year in a row.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
During these presentations, EMBA students walk the judging panel through their pitch for a product or service that they'll be (hypothetically) introducing to the market; from market research to financial reviews and demographic breakdowns, these students aim to sell potential investors.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
The intricacies of their businesses are always interesting but my favorite part of their presentations remains in how these groups come together to create; create ideas, create opportunities, create hurdles then overcome them, and so much more.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
In our day to day lives, it's easy to bypass our creativity - even though it's where the magic tends to live.⁣⁣⁣

No, we do not recommend you try this on your project.⁣
No, this doesn't happen on our projects.⁣
⁣

Since starting The Brahma Group, we've been exploring the many different ways we can best serve the Commercial Real Estate Market.

Through this, we realized the impact that being a certified Women-Owned business may have. Not only for our community and our clients, but for women in construction as a whole. So, although this process was a formality, it became very important to our team to receive official certification through our state and the federal government. And, as of this month, both are official!

Certified as a Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) through the Federal Government and MWBE (Minority/Women Business Enterprise), SBE (Small Business Enterprise) and DBE (Disadvantaged Business Enterprise) through the City and County of Denver, CDOT and RTD, we're able to provide world-class service to projects that directly impact the communities in which we live.

Over the next few weeks we'll further outline the services that we offer, so you know exactly how our team can best assist you in your Commercial Construction and Development needs. COVID-19 has put a lot of things on hold - weddings, vacations, business ventures and more. We've seen it, felt it and are trying our best to push through it.⁣
⁣
Prior to this starting, we had plans to start taking our construction experience and utilizing it in a portfolio of our own. We had our eyes set on some Class B townhomes in Denver and managed to seal the deal this month.⁣
⁣
We are doing our best to support the economy by continuing our efforts of pushing projects forward and are proud we were able to do so with this one. 👏⁣

The discussion of starting TBG started after Stephanie got back from a service trip in Costa Rica. On this trip, she led a group of 25 other volunteers in the construction of a local community’s new playground.⁣
⁣
As many of you know, Costa Rica experiences extreme rainfall. Their average rainfall per year is 100 inches, with some of their mountains experiencing upwards of 25 ft. on an annual basis.⁣
⁣
For comparison, Colorado gets an average of 17 inches (83 - 283 inches less than CR).⁣
⁣
Due to this excess rain, these students' playgrounds were often unusable due to flooding. Because of this, volunteers spent the week clearing their old space to begin building their new one. In this image, you see the beginning stages of laying concrete while trying to combat the ongoing rainfall.⁣
⁣
Fun Fact: No machines were used in the making of this playground. Due to the size of this village and enclosures surrounding the school, volunteers weren't able to utilize the same machinery we're used to in the United States!⁣
⁣
After finishing the job and seeing the smiles on those children's faces, it was clear that this was the space Stephanie and her father were meant to explore. Since then, The Brahma Group has made it their standard to contribute back into the communities in which they build with every contract signed, through their program; creating a business that is rooted in community.

When we were out in La Jolla, meeting with a partner in San Diego, we decided to take a morning spin class with part of our team.⁣
⁣
If you've ever been to , you understand the energy, the motivation, the community and the POWER you feel when you walk through their doors. But, one thing I appreciated about this location is that you feel it before you even make it into the building.⁣
