RV & Boat Protection: Quick Size Guide
Protect it right. Measure once, choose once.
1) Measure the real size
• Length: end to end. Include hitch or tongue, ladder, spare, swim platform, motor.
• Width: widest point. Include mirrors, fenders, or tower.
• Height: ground to the highest fixed point. A/C units, satellite domes, racks, towers. If a tower folds, measure both ways.
2) Add clearance for stress-free parking
• Length: add 2 - 4 ft.
• Width: add ~1 ft each side.
• Height: add 2 - 3 ft above the highest point.
3) Pick your carport size
• Width: 12' fits most single bays. 18' gives room to open doors and walk. 20'+ for wide beams or RV slide-outs.
• Length: round your total length up to the next 5' step. Common picks: 20', 25', 30', 35', 40'.
• Leg height: choose a leg height that keeps the roof 2 - 3 ft above your tallest point.
4) Local rules
Check setbacks, HOA, wind/snow ratings, and anchoring for your area.
Want help sizing? Comment “SIZE” and DM your L × W × H plus ZIP. We’ll match a permit-ready carport and share lead time and delivery options.

Greenhouse Starter Guide 🌱 (Size • Panels • Placement)
Size
• 6×8: herbs, starts, 1 - 2 raised beds.
• 8×12: full-season veggies and a potting table.
• Go taller when you can: better airflow and headroom for trellising.
Panels
• Twin-wall polycarbonate: durable, safer, diffuses light, good insulation.
• Glass: crystal-clear and classic, heavier, needs a sturdier base.
• Poly film: budget or seasonal, expect more frequent replacement.
Placement
• Aim for 6 - 8 hours of sun; morning sun is gold.
• Shelter from prevailing winds; leave 2 - 3 ft of clearance around.
• Level site with drainage; water source nearby is a must.
• If you want year-round use, plan for vents and a small fan.
Quick checklist
Size picked ✅ Panel type picked ✅ Level, well-drained pad ✅ Anchors ✅ Water nearby ✅

Here are some smart patio cover ideas to keep your table cool and your grill zone safe:
• Polycarbonate roof panels for UV shade with daylight.
• Louvered top you can tilt open while grilling.
• Deep overhang (24 - 36") to block low afternoon sun.
• Freestanding cover over the dining set; open air around the grill.
• Add a side shade on the west side to cut heat at dinner time.
Quick tips: keep proper clearance from heat sources, add a ceiling fan for airflow, and use dimmable string or puck lights for evening meals.

Renting storage feels cheap month to month… until you do the math.
Self-storage (10×10 typical):
• $120 - $160/mo
• 12 months: $1,440 - $1,920
• 24 months: $2,880 - $3,840
• 36 months: $4,320 - $5,760
Buy a backyard shed (example 10×12):
• One-time shed: ~$2,500 - $3,500
• Site prep (gravel or slab): ~$300 - $800
• Estimated total: ~$2,800 - $4,300
Simple math: at $140/mo, a shed can break even in ~21 - 24 months. After that, you own it - no monthly bill, 24/7 access, steps from your door. You can even turn it into a workshop, gym, or office.
Thinking long-term? A shed often wins.

Wind happens. Your building shouldn’t move.
🔩 Earth augers (screw-in ground anchors)
Use when:
• Soil is firm and not rocky
• No slab (grass or gravel pad)
• Moderate wind zones or temporary installs
Pros: fast install, budget-friendly, removable.
Watch-outs: weaker in rocky/clayey or saturated sand; re-tension seasonally.
🧱 Concrete anchors
Use when:
• You have a concrete slab or footings
• High-wind/coastal/snow-belt areas
• Permits or a permanent install are required
Pros: highest uplift resistance, code-friendly, long life.
Watch-outs: set layout before pour; allow cure time.
✅ Quick tips
• Use all supplied hardware and cross-bracing
• Keep straps tight and check annually
• Call 811 before digging; verify local code/HOA
• Follow the manufacturer’s engineered plan for anchor count and placement
Not sure which to choose? DM your ZIP + product and we’ll match the right anchor kit for your wind zone.

Seasonal Storage Plan: bikes, kayaks, patio sets
Stop tripping over summer gear. Here’s a simple, year-round plan you can actually keep.
Spring
• Bring bikes out front on wall hooks or a floor rack.
• Move winter tools to the back zone.
• Uncover patio set; keep cushions in labeled bins by the door.
Summer
• Bikes live on vertical hooks near the exit for quick rides.
• Kayaks on a wall rack or ceiling hoist; paddles in a mesh bag.
• Patio set stays outside with breathable covers; store spare cushions in a shed.
Fall
• Deep-clean and dry kayaks; store hull-side up on padded arms.
• Tune and hang bikes; l**e chains before winter.
• Wash, dry, and bin patio cushions; stack chairs, cover table.
Winter
• Kayaks move indoors (shed/garage). Avoid floor contact with a stand or straps.
• Bikes on a stand or ceiling hoist away from salt and slush.
• Patio set covered or inside an outbuilding; add desiccant packs to bins.
Where things go
• Walls: daily-use bikes, long items (paddles, rakes).
• Ceiling: kayaks, seasonal bins.
• Floor: heavy items only, on pallets to prevent moisture.
• Shed zones: Daily / Weekly / Seasonal shelves so everything has a home.
Pro tip: label shelves and aisles, leave 36" walkway, and keep a “returns” bin for stray gear.

Small Shed, Big Storage: Garden Gear Layout That Works
Tight on space? Steal these pro tips and make every inch count:
• Left wall = long tools. Install a vertical rail or heavy-duty hooks; hang rakes, shovels, and brooms tip-down so handles align.
• Back wall = shelves. Go 12 - 16 in. deep so bins fit without eating the aisle. Heavy items stay at waist height, light stuff up top.
• Right wall = “grab & go.” Short shelves for pots/soil + a mini pegboard for hand tools, twine, gloves, pruners.
• Door zone = hooks. Park the most-used tool right by the door for a 2-second exit.
• Ceiling/upper beam = seasonal. Overhead rack for spare hoses, tarps, and holiday décor.
• Label + zone. “Daily | Weekly | Seasonal” bins = zero guesswork.
• Keep an 18 - 24 in. aisle. If you can roll a mower through without shimmying, you nailed it.
