Big news from Fairmount Technologies! ⚓

Our XTRU™ manufacturing technology has been selected as a finalist in the 2026 Maritime Manufacturing Innovation Challenge.

XTRU is already proven in aerospace sustainment, where digital manufacturing replaces dedicated hard tooling to produce structural components more quickly and flexibly. Now, we’re working to bring that same capability to the maritime industrial base—scaling XTRU for larger structural parts and more demanding materials.

The opportunity? Less dedicated tooling, faster production, and flexible manufacturing capacity that can be deployed across shipyards, depots, and suppliers.

We’re excited to participate in the Maritime Manufacturing Innovation Challenge and work with Navy and industry partners to explore how XTRU can help strengthen U.S. shipbuilding and maritime readiness.

🚀 BIG NEWS from Fairmount Technologies!

FT has officially received its APFIT contract, marking a major step forward for our XTRU™ tooling-free manufacturing technology and its deployment across the U.S. defense sustainment community.

Under the contract, Fairmount Technologies will produce and deliver 18 XTRU machines to select defense maintenance and Aircraft Battle Damage Repair organizations, helping support faster production of critical airframe components and improved aircraft readiness.

✈️ Initial machine deliveries are scheduled to begin in Summer 2027.

This milestone moves XTRU from proven advanced manufacturing capability into active production and fielding — while supporting continued growth, hiring, and expansion at our Derby, Kansas facility.
