So a little story time. Today I had to go up to the Harbor Freight on 96 and Woodlawn. That’s very near where Sammy last lived up in the Bel Aire neighborhood. Got to say being near her house really brought back all those memories of those last few weeks and days. On the way home I drove by one of the places she had worked. Great Harvest on Woodlawn and Central. I remembered all the times she had me stop by to see her. Especially when I was working in San Antonio, she would ask me to stop by and see her straight from the airport. As I drove by I looked over to where she always parked her car. I could still picture it there. What a painful feeling to think it’s all gone, those times and Sammy. Just one of those heart wrenching things. Really puts into perspective what really matters in life. You know? So tonight I just kept to myself and tried to get some work done and at the end of the night I get a great text. An old friend from our time we lived in Italy found a couple of old pictures of Sammy and his kids. Definitely put a smile on my face to see her. She was always driving around our little Italian neighborhood in her pegorego jeep. She didn’t let many kids drive it, but she did give them rides. 🙂
