With restoration work having wrapped up on the Webster County Courthouse in the spring, Iowa’s Masons recently held a rededication ceremony to recognize those who made the project possible. After years of planning, fundraising, and public anticipation, the Lauridsen Skatepark held its official Grand Opening Ceremony Friday, May 7! Hailed as the largest in the country, this groundbreaking project has been an inspiration for our team.

Snyder & Associates, along with subsidiary Shuck-Britson, worked in close collaboration with the skatepark design firm, California Skateparks, to design and construct this top-of-the-line facility.

It’s official! The soon-to-be-open Lauridsen Skatepark in downtown City of Des Moines will host the only United States-based Olympic skateboard qualifying event leading up to the summer in Tokyo. Hailed as the largest skatepark in the country, this groundbreaking project has been a true inspiration for the civil engineering team from Snyder & Associates.

Dew Tour announced on its website Tuesday that its annual skateboard competition and festival will be held at Des Moines’ new Lauridsen Skatepark May 20-23.

After the Trestle Trail Bridge over Beaver Creek collapsed in early 2019 due to severe ice flows, City of Johnston Government leaders have been working with area agencies to secure to build a replacement.
