Sunday afternoon thoughts … one of the hardest parts of being open about our faith in business is that the moment we have to make a tough decision, someone inevitably questions our Christianity.
“You call yourselves Christians…”
Yes, we do. But we’ve never claimed to be perfect. In fact, the entire reason we put our faith in Jesus is because we know we aren’t.
We make mistakes. We get things wrong. We have moments we wish we handled differently. We need grace every single day, which is exactly why we try so hard to extend that same grace to others.
But grace does not mean being a doormat.
Being a Christian doesn’t mean allowing people to disrespect you, take advantage of your kindness, hurt your business, or negatively impact the people who depend on you.
Sometimes leadership requires making difficult decisions that people won’t understand or agree with.
We can forgive and still have boundaries.
We can love people and still say no.
We can give grace and still hold people accountable.
We can follow Jesus and still stand firm.
Our goal has never been perfection. Our goal is to keep growing, keep learning, keep extending grace, and keep our eyes on Jesus through all of it.
Grace and strength can exist in the same heart…
There’s enough judgment in this world already. May we all give a little more grace, love each other a little better, and remember that none of us are finished yet. 🙏❤️
