MODUS MODUS designs sustainable engineering for buildings and new construction. There are no off-the-shelf designs at MODUS. No templates or pre-packaged approaches.

Since 1963, MODUS (formerly Gilmor + Doyle) has engineered more than 11,000 buildings worth hundreds of millions of dollars. The key to our success and longevity is a disciplined approach to collaboration with clients. Instead we begin each facility engineering project by helping clients clearly articulate the goals of their structure or system. Then we ensure that everything we do moves the project toward achieving those goals. Whether you want LEED-certified efficiency and sustainability, low price per square foot, high human comfort, extreme durability or any of a hundred other attributes, MODUS has the mechanical and electrical expertise to engineer these capable facilities.

A night to celebrate the people behind MODUS!

MODUS is proud to be recognized among Iowa’s top ten workplaces in the small-employer division for 2026—our sixth Iowa Top Workplace honor! We’re also celebrating eight Culture Excellence awards and the Clued in Senior Management special award.

From supporting one another through challenging projects to making room for life outside work, our people make MODUS a great place to build a career.

Thank you to our entire team for the care you bring to your work, your coworkers, and our clients. These awards celebrate the culture you help build every day.

MODUS has had a great week teaming up with RDG Planning & Design for the Des Moines Corporate Games.

From volunteering together at Meals from the Heartland, to bringing home a Corporate Games Golf championship, to showing up for trivia night, this has been a fun reminder that the best parts of these events go beyond the scoreboard.

The Corporate Games give us a chance to connect outside of project work, support the community, and build relationships with the people we’re fortunate to collaborate with throughout the year.

Thanks to everyone from MODUS and RDG who has participated so far.

For many Cedar Valley families, youth sports mean loading up the car before sunrise, spending weekends in hotels, and driving for hours to tournaments. Soon, some of those game days could happen a lot closer to home. Scheduled to open in early 2027, CourtWorks will bring a 100,000-square-foot indoor...

This Memorial Day, progress on the Grinnell Veterans Monument carries extra meaning.

For decades, this corner of Central Park has been a place of remembrance. Now, it is becoming something new: a lasting tribute to the men and women who served, sacrificed, and carried the weight of freedom for the rest of us.

Seeing the monument take shape is a reminder that remembrance is not passive. It is something we build, protect, and pass on.

Today, we honor those who gave everything.
