🦁 What. A. Night. 🦒

On Saturday, 540 members of the PVS family, including employees, family members, and friends, enjoyed a private evening at the Detroit Zoo as the Zoo celebrated its 98th birthday.

The night started with hamburgers, hot dogs, Dippin' Dots, face painting, and plenty of smiles before everyone headed out to explore the zoo after hours.

Some animals were winding down for the evening (the gorillas were definitely asleep 😴), while others were putting on a show. Wildebeests chased each other across their habitat, a grizzly bear played in the water, lion cubs kept visitors entertained, stingrays were a crowd favorite, and the tiger looked ready for action.

And then there were the lions. Their deep, powerful roars echoed throughout the zoo and immediately grabbed everyone's attention. For many guests, it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience to hear them so vocal.

Guests also enjoyed carousel rides, giraffe sightings, and countless opportunities to make memories together.

Even better? After a week of threatening forecasts, not a single drop of rain fell during our event.

Last week, the Buffalo Steelworkers Union hosted a steak lunch that brought together current employees and retirees from years past.

The afternoon was filled with conversation, laughter, and stories spanning decades. And when it came time for photos, a few familiar jokes reminded everyone that some things never change.

Thank you to the union for organizing an event that celebrated the connections and traditions that make our workplace community so special.

Last night, 15 members of the PVS family, including employees, spouses, and children, had the privilege of serving dinner at the Ronald McDonald House of Detroit.

It was a humbling and rewarding experience to support families who are navigating some of life's most difficult challenges while caring for a hospitalized child.

Together, we prepared and served a home-cooked meal, providing families with one less thing to worry about after a long day at the hospital.

One of the most rewarding parts of the evening was seeing our younger volunteers eagerly jump in and serve alongside their parents. Watching multiple generations come together to support families in need made the experience even more meaningful.

This volunteer event is part of PVS's summer-long support of Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). From Memorial Day through Labor Day, many of our locations are collecting aluminum cans, with proceeds benefiting RMHC and the families they serve.

We are proud to support an organization that provides comfort, care, and a true home away from home when families need it most.

⛳ The 5th Annual PVS Chemicals Summer Golf Outing is officially in the books — and what a day it was.

A great day was had by our Chicago-area teams at Duck Creek Golf Course, filled with friendly competition, plenty of laughs, and time well spent together outside the day-to-day.

Thank you to everyone who joined and helped make this year’s outing another strong example of camaraderie across PVS. We wrapped the day by recognizing winners of the Hydrochloric Cup and celebrating a great round all around.

Already looking forward to next year.

Safety milestones worth celebrating 👏

Two of our Detroit locations recently reached incredible achievements in workplace safety:
🔹 Technologies Detroit – 25 years without a lost-time accident
🔹 Nolwood Detroit – 5 years without a lost-time accident

Both teams marked the occasion with well-deserved luncheon celebrations, bringing everyone together to recognize the commitment, consistency, and care it takes to reach milestones like these.

These achievements don’t happen by chance—they reflect a culture where safety comes first, every day. From leadership to frontline teams, it takes accountability, teamwork, and looking out for one another.

Congratulations to both teams on these outstanding accomplishments—and thank you for continuing to set the standard. 💙
