Last week's rundown from the Make It Better crew, Verde Valley edition.

Cottonwood:
- Built a set of stairs
- Hung 10 new down spouts
- Fixed some skirting
- Fixed some pavers
- Fixed a toilet (glamorous, I know)
- Fixed a door
- Installed a microwave

Mayer:
- Knocked out a window and some block to put in a door. Yes, on purpose.

Then I finished the week with a set of stairs at my own house. I'd show you pictures, but I forgot to take any. Classic. The cobbler's kids have no shoes and the handyman's stairs have no photos.

My painter also painted the exterior of a manufactured home, so shout out to him for making someone's place look brand new.

This week I spent more time dancing around the rain than actually working in it.

Rain in Arizona? Rare. Rain on the exact days I have exterior work lined up? Apparently very on brand for the universe.

But we made it work. Here's the recap:

- Finished the siding on a house (swipe for the finished look)
- Installed a bigger window to let in way more light
- Hung 2 new doors
- Popped over to a neighbor's place and installed another door while I was in the area

Not a bad week for a guy playing hide and seek with the clouds.

Good morning fellow Americans. We have been slacking on the updates so here is kind of a long one.

We made it to the Yavapai County Junior Rodeo banquet dinner and watched Hank get his buckle and all the other amazing awards they gave out. Yavapai County Junior Rodeo Association

We also received our Award for Best of the Best in Sedona's Readers Choice Awards! Thank you all so much for the votes — it means a lot to us.

Work wise, we have been siding a home, clearing brush, our concrete contractor poured a pad for a customer adding onto their shop and putting in a lift, and we cut in a pad for a future shop build. CSS Concrete Construction LLC

16 days deep in the Arizona woods. No cell service, no job sites — just me and what felt like every deer in the state.

Turns out bucks don't need porches built. Zero calls. Zero deposits. Not even a handshake. So here I am, back where I belong. 😄

It was one heck of a trip though. The backcountry was unreal, the wildlife was even better, and I came home with a full memory card and a whole new level of appreciation for what Arizona has to offer.

Now I'm rested, recharged, and ready to get after it. If you've been sitting on a project — porch, fence, bathroom remodel, honey-do list that's been stacking up — now's the time to reach out. Let's get it done before the holidays sneak up on us.

Sometimes you just need to remind yourself why you work so hard.

Spent some time out in God's country this week. Got rained on. Cuddled up under some trees. Watched the world slow down for a minute. And honestly? I will do it all over again tomorrow.

There's something about being out in nature that hits different. No estimates to write, no projects to manage, just me, the rain, and a whole lot of trees that don't need any repairs.

The business will still be here when I get back. And I'll be better for it.

This week we were out in Dewey, AZ doing what we do best — making it better. 🏡

The homeowners had old windows and doors that were doing basically nothing for insulation. You know the type — the ones where you can feel the outside air saying hello from the couch.

We swapped them all out with brand new Milgard windows and a customer supplied slidding glass door. Night and day difference. Fresh look, way better insulation, and the curb appeal went from "meh" to "hey, who just moved in?"

What a week. Here's a little rundown of what we were up to across the Mountains:

🐴 Fixed a horse fence out in Henderson Valley — the horses have standards, and we respect that

💡 Installed 2 fan remotes in Sedona — no more getting up off the couch just to feel the breeze

🚿 Put in 3 grab bars in Sedona — safety installs that matter, done right

🗄️ Installed a medicine cabinet in Sedona — organized chaos is still chaos, so now it's just organized

⏲️ Fixed some light timers in Sedona — lights that turn on AND off when they're supposed to? Wild concept

🪜 Built a custom stair railing and handrail in Sedona — hands down one of the better-looking ones we've done

💧 Fixed an irrigation leak in Prescott Valley — saving water, saving lawns, saving the day

7 jobs. Multiple towns. Same goal every time — show up, do it right, leave it better than we found it.

Big or small, we handle it all across the Mountains.

330 linear feet of pipe rail fence — done and done.

Right here in the neighborhood. If you've ever tried to measure that out yourself, you already know that's no joke. We're talking posts, rails, footings, and a whole lot of sweat in that glorious sun.

Came out clean. Came out strong. Came out exactly how the customer wanted it.
