Local members of the Brockton community will be gearing up for its 3rd annual 'A Walk for Peace' on Saturday, May 27th, 2017 beginning at 10:00 AM. The walk begins at Centro de Santa Clara on Grand Street in Brockton and will end at the Cape Verdean Association on Montello Street.
A group of friends and parishioners from Saint Edith Stein Church, a place of worship for the Cape Verdean community in Brockton, formed “Grupo Familia de Nazaré” dedicated to promoting peace and ending violence in Brockton. Their message is “Brockton without violence” and they are working hard to make changes by engaging families and demonstrating to those responsible for the violence that it will not be tolerated. Their hopes are to at least change one heart affected by these senseless brutalities.
For more information of how to become involved with this event, please contact Marina Oliveira, President of Grupo Familia de Nazaré, at 857-222-4897.
