In the summer of 2020 American Water began construction on a new 500,000 gal elevated water storage tank in their Sterling district. This tank replaces a 250,000 gal tank at the same location. Wendler is proud to have provided surveying and resident engineer services for this project.

Wendler Engineering Services, Inc. has an immediate opening for a full-time LAND SURVEY TECHNICIAN in our Dixon, Illinois office. The position includes the opportunity to experience work on a diverse workload of projects within our growing company. Candidates for this position shall be a dynamic motivated individual and meet the following minimum position requirements:

• Excellent communication skills and
ability to work in a team environment.

• Must have valid driver’s license and the
ability to perform physical activity in an
outdoor environment in various
weather conditions.

• Work experience, training, or education
in surveying, construction, or
associated trade.

Exceptional candidates would also have:

• A strong working knowledge of
surveying equipment, GPS, robotic total
stations and e-levels.

• An Associate’s Degree in Surveying or
a related science, or equivalent.

• Knowledge of topographic, boundary,
ALTA, ROW, traverse and construction
layout.

• Knowledge of computer-based
drafting and design applications, such
as AutoCAD, Civil 3D and/or
Microstation/Geopak.

• The ability to meet the qualifications
and test for the Surveyor-in-Training
License in Illinois.

• Experience with IDOT topographic
survey codes.

hours of Land Surveying courses
and possess a valid Surveyor-in-
Training License in Illinois.

• Knowledge of computer-based
drafting and design applications,
such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D and/or
Microstation/Geopak.

• Excellent communication skills and

License in Illinois.

This facility includes 59 residential units and 2,000 sf of commercial space. Wendler is proud to have provided the civil engineering and surveying services for this project!

Just in time for school to start, paving is wrapping up on East Morgan Street in Dixon! Special thanks to Martin Construction and the City of Dixon for their help on this portion of the project that included new sidewalk ramps, base repairs, and roadway resurfacing.
