I made it home btw, 3 days of camping in some of the greatest pieces of land I've ever been in. Unfortunately I didn't do much prospecting because I got really distracted by AZ. We shall return though and do some damage!

Got cell service back alittle while ago. Camped out last night in the middle of Prescott Forest, I think I was the only thing around for miles. It was awesome, super dark too no wild life though except some crickets which was weird. Did some exploring in that area. Headed up north above Kingman, AZ to a claim there for some metal detecting, maybe some panning. I love this place!

Made to Lynx Creek today in Prescott, AZ at around 2 pm today! Got some panning done and met some pretty friendly fellow prospectors. Figuring out my next stop now!

Edit: yes we practiced safe social distancing and they are the first people I've interacted with.

Currently done driving for day 2. About 1,350 miles done today and 2 time zones. I went through Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas,and am currently posted up in New Mexico at a rest stop somewhere after Santa Rosa on Rt66. Approximately 550 miles left before I get to my first destination for this trip in Arizona. Should be there in no time. Missouri had a ton of dead armadillos on the side of the highway, Oklahoma was fascinating to drive through and was lucky enough to ride off into a beautiful Texas sunset. Pictured through my bug covered windshield.

Looking forward to tomorrow and hopefully will get some actual prospecting done! Fingers crossed for a heavy pan!

Currently in OK. It's my favorite state to drive through so far. However it is a long state to drive through... My next turn won't be happening today, but I hope to be in New Mexico before I stop for the night! Decent progress!

First leg of the trip done! Currently in a new time zone camped out at the first welcome center in Illinois. Today brought me through NJ, PA, WV, OH, IN, and now Illinois. If I get a good night's sleep in I can get the majority of the driving done tomorrow with only a little left on Wednesday! Really shaping up to be a good trip. Can't wait to go panning!

Lots of packing to finish up today. Still have some work to be done to my car before I can sleep in it. Should be hitting the road Monday, latest Tuesday. Then it's just a short 36 hour drive to my first destination in Mohave County, Arizona! The second leg of the journey will likely end in or near Butte County, California. Where I go from there is up in the air.

Gonna try to do several updates here when I can and also document the full trip. We'll see how it goes.
