GE Healthcare discontinued Polybuffer 74 and Polybuffer 96 a while back putting us in a real bind in our protein separations development. We have fortunately developed ProteoSep, a replacement to them.
The chromatofocusing was performed using the polybuffers paired with a weak anion exchange column (WAX). This allowed an linear pH gradient to be performed on a single isocratic pump using a constant flow rate. Futhermore, the WAX column allowed for higher resolution than a SAX column on certain complex proteins.
