So what is an ice dam?
Basically, an ice dam is a buildup of ice along a roof’s eaves or in roof valleys. It forms when snow on the roof melts, then refreezes before it can drain off the roof.
As more melting and refreezing occurs, the ice dam grows, preventing water from draining and potentially lead to roof damage.
