Around here, our name means everything.

For the past 14 years, our family has called Drummond home. Ten years ago, we took a leap and turned that into something more—building HarborView Builders to serve the same community we live in.

From day one, our goal has been simple: deliver quality work we can stand behind, and treat every customer with honesty, trust, and respect. When our name is on a project, it’s not just a job—it’s a reflection of who we are.

That same mindset carries into our team. The people who work with us aren’t just employees—they’re treated like family. We believe in investing in our crew, sharing our knowledge, and building skills that last a lifetime. Because strong teams build better projects, and better projects build stronger communities. You might even recognize our crew around town by our trademark blue shirts—a small symbol of the pride we take in what we do and who we represent.

One of the most common issues we see is “tar flashing.” It might look sealed up today, but tar is a temporary patch. It dries out, cracks, and pulls away—letting water sneak in where you can’t see it until the damage is already done.

The right way to flash a chimney is with galvanized step flashing and counter flashing, layered properly so water is directed away from the roof—not trapped in it. And on the uphill side of the chimney, a properly built cricket is key. It diverts water and snow around the chimney, rather than allowing it to pile up and force its way inside.

Quick fixes cost less today—but they cost a lot more later.
