New Michigan rules or law on purchases starting 02/13/2024.

I just got off the phone with MSP. Forms are supposed to be on the website the 12th. The stupid new rules are as follows.

Pistols: CPL holder proceed as normal with nics and ri-060. Include cpl number on the form and the FFL turns in to the FFLs local police or sheriff. You only get your purchaser copy.

Non-CPL holders have to get a purchase permit from their local pd or sheriff and bring to the FFL to purchase. You cannot purchase a pistol without it.

Long guns: all long guns get a ri-060 and there will be a box to check for long gun. FFL keeps this for their record. And your copy is for your record. Nothing gets turned in. I asked that again to make sure I heard her. Nothing gets turned in for long gun. 🤦🏼‍♂️

Anything that’s a frame or receiver doesn’t get a ri-060.
