Screening large numbers of colonies for fluorescence?

In a recent Cell Reports study, researchers used the Sapphire Biomolecular Imager to rapidly screen fluorescent reporter expression across large numbers of Chlamydomonas transformants.

Plate-based fluorescence imaging helped researchers quickly identify successful transformants to characterize promoter-5' UTR elements containing introns (PUTRis) that reduce gene silencing and increase protein expression.
