The Story Behind “Willie” 🛠️💧

You’ve probably seen him around town, the little plumber carrying a pipe with his trusty plunger. But did you know there’s a family story behind him?

When Harlan & Joan started Willenborg Plumbing & Heating, Joan actually hand-drew our original logo. The little plumber was named “W***y,” after Harlan, whose nickname was W***y.

That nickname was passed down through the family - from Grandpa (Harlan), to his son (Jim), his grandson (Austin), and eventually to the newest generation, Willie. ❤️

At some point, the spelling changed from W***y to Willie, but the meaning behind the name stayed the same. What started as a hand-drawn logo has become a symbol of family, tradition, and generations of Willenborg's.

After all these years, Willie is still riding along with us, just like he has from the very beginning.

A logo with a story. A name with a legacy. And a little plumber who is truly part of the family. ❤️🛠️

This is our last call for foursomes, hole sponsors and auction donations before the 2026 Golf Outing at Timberline Golf Course on Thursday, July 9.

The mission behind the event: Camp Albrecht Acres is Dubuque County's only residential summer camp for people with special needs, and we never turn anyone away due to an inability to pay. Every foursome, every sponsorship, every donation helps us keep that promise.
