Quick question…

Have you been told you have to start your solar project before July 4, 2026? 🤔

Because that’s not the full story.

👉 You can actually start after that date and still qualify
BUT…
⚠️ You need to be fully up and running by December 31, 2027

That’s the part a lot of people are missing.

So now the real question becomes:
How confident are you in your timeline?

• Smooth project, no delays? You’ve got flexibility
• Utility, permitting, or construction unknowns? Timing matters a lot more

Solar Tax Credit Timing Update (Important for 2026–2027 Projects)

We’re getting a lot of questions about the new federal §48E solar tax credit rules, so here’s the simple version:

👉 You do NOT have to start your project before July 4, 2026
As long as your system is fully installed and operational by December 31, 2027, you can still qualify.

BUT…

⚠️ If your project starts after July 4, 2026, and isn’t finished by the end of 2027, the tax credit is generally no longer available.

💡 What this means in real life:
• If your project timeline is solid → you still have flexibility
• If there’s any chance of delays → starting before July 4, 2026 is the safer move

🔌 Direct Pay (for nonprofits, municipalities, etc.)
There’s no separate deadline. It follows the same rules as the tax credit and is claimed after the project is placed in service.

Our advice:
If you’re even thinking about solar, now is the time to map out your timeline so you don’t lose eligibility.
