General Operator Wanted for a DitchWitch JT120 Drilling Crew. Immediate Start. We have constant work into September 2026 as of now. All work for 2026 Season is on the MN/ND border.

Pay:
Operators Local 49 Wages

Job Duties (Will Vary):
Operate DitchWitch JT120 (Brand New)
Operate Hitachi 135 (Brand New) when needed
Operate Cat Rubber Tire Backhoe
HDPE Fusing (1-18")
General Operating work as needed on the crew.

Travel
Travel to and from the jobsite in an EBI company vehicle leaving form Duluth MN each week.
Typical Work Weeks are Monday - Friday and home on the weekends.
States we Work: MN, ND, SD, WI, IL (All work for 2026 is on the MN/ND border)

2023 Season has started with the small DitchWitch 30 instead of the Vermeer 100x140!

Job Location: Wheaton Illinois
Bore Specifications: 700 ft of 12” Certa-lock.

Time To Complete: 2 days due to short working hours & dump site location.

Other Comments: Started the second 700ft shot this afternoon and already are halfway through the first ream! Hopefully be pulled in by Friday morning.

What is Hammer Boring by EBI Drilling Services?
Hammer Boring is a casing advancement system that uses a down the hole (DTH) air hammer system to pull a casing through the ground. This type of underground drilling system is far superior to Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) and Jack and Bore Systems when the ground conditions become unfavorable (Rocky, Cobbles, Bedrock, Mixture of everything, etc.)

Why would you use this style system over typical Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) or Jack and Bore System?
When rocky conditions or cobble conditions arise in the bore path, typical HDD rigs have a hard time steering during the creation of the initial pilot hole, rocks get stuck between the reamer and pipe and cause equipment failure, or the pipe to get stuck, etc.
When solid rock or mixed rocky conditions occur during the Jack and Bore process, the drilling slows way down, the machine requires greater push force at the entrance pit, the rocks can clog the drill head, etc.
Using the Hammer Bore System by EBI Drilling Services, the Down Hole Air Hammer (DTH) is full proof! The air hammer pulls the casing through the ground instead of pushing it, like a jack and bore system, and no matter the ground conditions, the casing will continue to advance forward as the DTH air hammer moves forward. No more digging unfavorable ground conditions or re-routing of pipe lines!
