Donau Carbon continues to grow in the Activated Carbon market, and as a result, has an immediate opportunity for a QC Technician at our Dunnellon, Florida manufacturing site. A summary of this opportunity is as follows:
Position: QC Technician
- Full time position 40 hours per week, with overtime available
- Part time candidates may also be considered (will collaborate with the University to fulfill any internship requirements – note: internship assignments are paid as well)
- Students graduating with the class of 2022 would be encouraged to apply as well.
- Work Hours:
o Monday – Friday 7am to 3:30pm
Salary:
- A competitive salary is offered based on qualifications and experience

Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required, College degree (2 or 4 year) in a science or engineering discipline is preferred
- 2- 5 years of QC lab and / or relevant production experience preferred, however, will consider and train interested candidates if their candidacy is determined appropriate for this
- Ability to life and or move up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret information.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.

Donau Carbon USA currently has plant operations positions available at its Dunnellon, Florida manufacturing site for both entry level and skilled plant operators. Starting pay ranges $13-$15 / hour for entry level positions and $15-$18 / hour for higher skilled and experienced candidates, with overtime hours paid at 1 ½ times the base hourly rate and holiday hours paid at 2 times the base hourly rate. - Location: Dunnellon, Florida
- Compensation:
o Salary commensurate with tenure and experience

- Requirements:
o Chemical, technical or business economics degree
o At least 5 years of professional experience in procurement and logistics management with demonstrated success in these disciplines. Experience in the Activated Carbon or specialty chemicals market is preferred.
o Candidate must possess and illustrate strong communication and negotiation skills
o High level of personal initiative to ensure supply and drive continuous improvement in material and logistic procurement and cost
o Self-directed with demonstrated organizational skills
- Business Travel Requirements:
o Up to 30% of time to support key sourcing and supply improvement initiatives
- Key Responsibilities:
o Assume responsibility & accountability for the negotiation and procurement of all materials and supplies for the Dunnellon site
o Manage inbound and outbound transportation for the USA business
o Review and maintain current contracts with suppliers, develop and execute new contracts as needed and prudent
o Secure supply of materials and transportation solutions, partnering with operations and sales colleagues as needed
o Maintain records of inventory to determine when new materials need to be ordered
o Develop and implement purchasing procedures and policies
