This Team Member Tuesday, we’re celebrating Matt Charlett, Automation Engineer III at KBI’s Boulder facility!

As part of the Facilities Engineering team, Matt works on the automation systems that support our manufacturing facility. His role includes programming equipment control systems, resolving technical issues, and designing new improvements that help teams work more efficiently. Matt’s work helps create reliable processes and supports the day-to-day manufacturing environment at KBI.

One of Matt’s favorite things about KBI is the collaboration across teams. In his role, he partners with associates across Manufacturing, Science & Technology, Validation, Quality, Facilities, and Supply Chain, and says the people and shared sense of purpose are what make KBI stand out.

“There’s a culture here where the focus on quality of life and the patients behind every product is felt and shared at every level,” Matt shared. “That connection is something I’m reminded of every day, and it’s what makes the work genuinely meaningful to me.”

Outside of work, Matt enjoys working on projects around the house and yard, watching Flyers hockey and F1, and spending time outdoors hiking and skiing. He’s also a proud dog dad to Chloe, his 7-year-old mini goldendoodle.

For Eric, the work done at KBI is meaningful because it helps support and improve people’s lives, a purpose that continues to motivate him after over eight years with the company.

Outside of work, Eric enjoys spending time with his kids, cooking, keeping busy around the house, and connecting with friends. His family also loves to travel and has an upcoming cruise to the Bahamas and Eastern Caribbean on the calendar.

Meet Ted McCoy, Principal Engineer at KBI’s Patriot Park site and our feature this week! For over five years, Ted has supported Manufacturing Operations through his work on the Manufacturing Process Control System (MPCS), which monitors and controls key manufacturing processes.

As a process controls engineer, Ted focuses on making systems easier to use and less error-prone for manufacturing associates, helping teams work more efficiently and successfully every day. His wide range of experience across industries — from power plants and semiconductor manufacturing to fill finish and biopharma — brings valuable perspective to solving challenges at KBI.

Ted’s favorite thing about KBI is the opportunity for employees to directly contribute to the company’s success and collaborate across teams to help move work forward.

Outside of work, Ted enjoys biking, hiking, remodeling his house, and camping with his family (he has two sets of twins!). He also shares his home with a clingy cat, and a very hungry dog.

This week’s Team Member Tuesday spotlight is on Becca Glebus, Microbiology Associate II at KBI’s Patriot Park facility in North Carolina!

For the past three and a half years, Becca has supported the Quality Control Microbiology team through environmental monitoring, clean utility collection and testing, deviation writing, and trending reports. Her work plays an important role in helping ensure the quality and safety behind the life-changing therapies we manufacture.

One of Becca’s favorite parts about working at KBI is the opportunity to take initiative and bring new ideas to life. Her passion for sustainability has led her to launch a green team, organize Earth Day cleanup events, and help implement a lab waste recycling program through Polycarbin, initiatives that are making a positive impact across the site.

Outside of work, Becca enjoys exploring trails at state parks, visiting local breweries and restaurants, reading, traveling, attending music festivals, and taking Pilates classes around the Triangle area.

This week’s Team Member Tuesday spotlight is on Carlos Moreno, Supervisor of Manufacturing Support at our Patriot Park site. Carlos has been with KBI for four years and helps to keep manufacturing running smoothly. From preparing the media and buffers used in production to ensuring equipment, materials, and spaces are ready for use, Carlos and his team help create the conditions needed to deliver safe, high-quality products in a compliant production environment.

Recently promoted to supervisor, Carlos brings a strong focus on teamwork and continuous improvement, encouraging his team to share ideas, learn from one another, and look for small ways to get better. He challenges his team to look for ways to get just 1% better every day, knowing that small, consistent improvements add up to a big impact over time.

For Carlos, the work gives him a sense of gratitude, knowing that even the small things done each day contribute to something bigger for patients. “It’s about taking ownership, paying attention to the details, and stepping in where needed because even the smallest actions can make a difference.”

Outside of work, Carlos stays busy running, weightlifting, and golfing whenever he can. He spends weekends helping out on his family’s horse farm and can do anything from mechanical work to horse training. He also has a constant sidekick, his 11-pound maltipoo, Benni, who is never far from his side and loves to boss around the farm dogs.

Meet our feature, Kevin Boswell! Kevin has been part of the KBI team for nearly 10 years and serves as a Senior Supervisor, Manufacturing Specialist at our Patriot Park facility.

His role is all about keeping processes clear, consistent, and set up for success. Kevin revises procedures and batch records for process improvements or upcoming projects, supports deviation investigations and CAPA implementation, and supports training and development across the team.

For Kevin, the impact of the work is deeply personal. After his wife’s breast cancer diagnosis 15 years ago, he saw firsthand the challenges of treatment. Knowing KBI produces therapies for cancers like breast and lung cancer gives his work deeper meaning and drives his focus on doing things the right way. As he puts it, when he asks questions like “What does your SOP say?” or pushes for additional quality guidance, it’s all about ensuring the end product does what it’s meant to do: save lives.

Outside of work, Kevin’s world centers around family. He’s been married for nearly 28 years and has three sons, and spending time with them is his top priority. When he has time, you’ll find him fishing, reeling in red drum, black drum, sheepshead, and Spanish mackerel!

Meet Sarah Sullivan, this week's ! Sarah has been part of the KBI Boulder team for 11 years and, as Director of Business Development, plays a key role in how new clients and ideas come into our network.

Sarah and her team are often one of the first connections clients have with KBI. They take time to understand the client’s goals, challenges, and potential of their therapeutic program. From there, Sarah helps shape a path forward. She designs proposals aligned with KBI’s strengths, capabilities, and resources, setting the foundation for programs that bring treatments to patients.

When asked what she enjoys most about KBI, Sarah points to both the people and the opportunity to learn. “It's a tie between the people and continuous learning about new scientific breakthroughs to treat painful disease,” she shares. Her team always thinks creatively and finds solutions that not only meet client development and budgetary goals but ultimately reduce the cost of bringing quality products to patients.

Outside of work, Sarah finds joy in adventure. While she loves to travel, she’s just as happy exploring closer to home. Having grown up in Colorado, she still spends her time camping, hiking, skiing, and biking in the Rockies with friends and family.
