A few weeks ago, we lost a great friend, mentor, and industry leader.
Choctaw Transportation Company joins the construction and transportation industries in mourning the loss of Daniel Kirkwood Fordice III.
Dan Fordice leaves behind a legacy that will endure for generations. Through his leadership, vision, and unwavering commitment to excellence, he helped strengthen the foundation upon which our industry stands today. The roads we travel, the projects we build, and the partnerships that unite our industry are stronger because of his contributions.
As a leader of Fordice Construction Company and National President of the Associated General Contractors of America, Dan understood that lasting success is built the same way great structures are built: through integrity, trust, hard work, and service to others. He devoted his life to creating those cornerstones, and the result is an industry that is more connected, more resilient, and better positioned for the future because of his influence.
Those who knew Dan experienced a man who valued people above all else. He was a mentor, a friend, a veteran, a pilot, and a man of deep faith whose impact reached far beyond boardrooms and job sites. He had a unique gift for bringing people together, creating opportunities, and inspiring others to lead with purpose.
One friend described Dan as the kind of person who made everyone around him better. We have found that to be true. His leadership aligned people around a common purpose and helped elevate not only individual companies but our entire industry.
On behalf of everyone at Choctaw Transportation Company, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Ann Claire, his children and grandchildren, the Fordice family, and the countless friends, colleagues, and industry partners who were blessed to know him.
We are grateful for the opportunity to have worked alongside Dan through the AGC community and will continue to honor the example he set. The foundation he helped build remains strong, and his influence will continue to guide those who follow.
Thank you, Dan, for a life of service, leadership, and purpose. Your legacy is firmly embedded in the structures we build, the relationships we cherish, and the future of our industry.
